Eva von Bahr

Eva von BahrEva von Bahr was born in Sweden where she attended music school from an early age. In her later teenage years, she led and coordinated a 150-student music camp and was active in many orchestras as well as in the administration of those institutions. She attended the University of Gothenburg as a music student. Two years later, she transferred to San Francisco Conservatory of Music and received her BA in Bassoon Performance, class of 1992.

Events took her to Fort Bragg where she owned and operated the Weller House Inn between 1998 and 2008. Eva has been a member of the Symphony of the Redwoods (SoR) since 1999 and played in the Opera Fresca Orchestra and the Music Festival as well as many other musical happenings on the coast. With Symphony of the Redwoods, she spearheaded the first Children's Concert and was the coordinator from 2001 until 2008; she has now returned to heading that project for the Symphony.

In 2013, the Symphony board asked Eva to coordinate SoR's Opus Chamber Music Series which has become a thriving part of the Symphony organization. She also spent some time in the East Bay where she owned a music store and repair shop, until 2018, but she is back on the coast full time now and thrilled about serving on the Symphony of the Redwoods board of directors.
